Ellicottville CTE Center Also Places 5 at SkillsUSA Regional

Five students from the Career and Technical Education Center at Ellicottville placed in the annual Regional SkillsUSA Competitions held at Alfred State College in Alfred and Wellsville on Tuesday, March 4.

SkillsUSA Chapter Advisors Edward Arnold, Matt Fanton, and Cathleen Woods have announced the following placewinners:

First place in Early ChildhoodJenna Langley, Early Childhood/Human Services, Pioneer, senior.

Third place in Early ChildhoodShae Johnson, Early Childhood/Human Services, Franklinville, senior.

Third place in Auto Body HelperCody Harvey, Collision Repair Technology, Cattaraugus-Little Valley, junior.

Third place in Collision Repair TechnologyJacob Wig, Collision Repair Technology, Cattaraugus-Little Valley, senior.

Third place in WeldingWilliam (Billy) Snyder, Welding/Metal Fabrication, Springville G.I., senior.

According to Skills USA Chapter Co-Advisor Matt Fanton, “The Skills USA Chapter at the CABOCES CTE Center at Ellicottville sent 40 students to compete, assist competitions or serve as a Delegate to help elect the Area 1 Vice President.  Many of the students remarked on how much fun they had that day competing and getting to know peers from CTE Centers all across Western New York.”

He added, “We look forward to the New York State Conference and competitions, which take place in Syracuse from April 24th until April 26th."
